Feeling old yet? Princess Charlotte has just turned eleven. Eleven.
It honestly seems like only yesterday that Prince George was pictured holding his newborn sister, but more than a decade has passed since her arrival.
To mark the occasion, Kensington Palace released a new portrait on Saturday (2 May), alongside a simple message wishing her a happy 11th birthday.
The photo, taken by photographer Matt Porteous during the family’s Easter trip to Cornwall, shows Charlotte standing in a field of daisies. She’s dressed casually in a striped sweater and jeans, with light blue nail polish adding a playful touch.

But while the setting and outfit were charming, many people fixated on something else entirely. Her resemblance to her father.
“My word, she is so like William!” one person wrote, while others echoed the same thought, calling her the double of Prince William.
Fans kept the birthday wishes coming, noting how much she resembles her dad and celebrating her big day.
Alongside the photo, William and Catherine Princess of Wales also shared a short video filled with moments from their Cornwall holiday. In the clips, Charlotte plays with the family’s dogs, Orla and Otto, enjoys time on a boat, writes messages in the sand, and even bowls a cricket ball on the beach.
“It’s been a lovely day,” the tone suggests, as the family thanked everyone for the birthday messages.
It’s been a busy stretch for the Wales family. Prince Louis recently turned eight, and not long before that, William and Kate celebrated 15 years of marriage with a relaxed family photo.
They also introduced their newest furry addition, Otto, who had just turned one right before Charlotte’s birthday.
Plenty to celebrate, and plenty of moments that remind people just how quickly time flies.
